My Mission:

Hi, I'm Blakely! As a researcher and strategist with a PhD from Harvard, I'm passionate about empowering individuals and organizations to make a real difference. I believe in relentlessly pursuing the "why" behind the "what" and using the knowledge uncovered to create a more equitable and inclusive society. I'm driven by curiosity, growth, and integrity, and I'm dedicated to partnering with organizations that share those values.

My Experience:

My journey to launching Besearch  has been shaped by a wide range of experiences. From conducting cutting-edge research in academic settings to launching a digital health startup to using research to advance policy change, I've honed my skills in quantitative and qualitative research, fund raising, and strategic planning. I've partnered with universities, non-profits, and startups to create research proposals, collect and analyze data, implement programs, and evaluate their impact. I have helped raise over $3.4M in federal and venture capital funding, and my research has been used to enact state legislation to address the childcare crisis in Alabama. The throughline that ties together these experiences is figuring out ways to communicate complicated ideas in a way that is easy to understand and inspires confidence to take action or invest dollars.

While I'm an engineer by training, I believe that true insight comes from embracing both numbers and narrative. I thrive in the space between statistics and storytelling, where data-driven analysis meets empathetic understanding. I love to collaborate, ask questions, and creatively explore the human side of every challenge. I'm deeply committed to working with organizations that are making a real difference in the world, and I'm passionate about using research to help my clients learn more about the communities they serve, develop sound strategies, and ultimately achieve their goals.
